The heather-gray pants, made with an organic-conventional cotton mix and recycled polyfiber (now you know where your plastic water bottles go to die) are locally printed-so in addition to doing your part for the crusade for healthy boobs, you’ll also bank some carbon karma-and sport a cute pink heart, which, upon closer inspection, is not a heart at all, but a cluster of skulls. Eco Gets Inspired: So, we got the memo: plastic bags bad, reusable bags good. And we’re happy to do our part-at the grocery store or the Farmers Market. But canvas is just so : beige. Show me a woman and I’ll show you someone who’d prefer her bag be a little fun. Especially if she’s hitting the mall. If outing the old to make room for some new has been on your to-do list since the last time leggings were lust-worthy, now is the time to get busy. Dream Foundation Celebration of Dreams Fashion Show

The event formerly known as the First Ladies of the Dream Foundation returns for an eighth year on November 6, at the Bacara at 6 p.m., and, if tradition holds, it’ll be a stylephile’s dream come true. 1) The Clothes: The event’s played host to some huge names (Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli) in the past, and this year is no exception. The post-dinner fashion show will feature Carolina Herrera’s 2010 Resort Collection, which is bright, floral, and utterly fabulous. (And, if this year is like all the others, you’ll also enjoy the lack of clothes on the “dream angels” of the male persuasion. : Let’s hope this year is like all the others.)

2) The Stars: The event is known for being pretty over-the-top, and I mean that in the best possible way. This year, guests will be treated to performances from 2009 American Idol winner Kris Allen as well as Grammy-nominated singer Taylor Dayne. Dream Foundation Ambassador Priscilla Presley will be presented with the Founder’s Award, and long-time S.B. supporters Jeff and Susan Bridges will also be honored at the event. The dude abides.

3) The Tears: Let’s be honest-who can turn down the promise of a good cry? This year marks the Dream Foundation’s 15th anniversary, a decade and a half of making dreams come true for adults facing life-threatening illnesses. Clothes, food, and celeb-gazing notwithstanding, meeting and hearing from the dream recipients is always the highlight of this dreamy affair.
