“Horses are being abandoned, abused, and neglected today in record numbers, and they need help,” said April Horowitz, founder of the nonprofit equine rescue organization Heart of a Horse (HOAH), in a press release. Santa Barbarans can aid the cause by attending the 100th Bombardier Polo Championship, Sunday, August 15, at the S.B. Polo and Racquet Club, 3375 Foothill Road, Carpinteria. Tickets are $10 for general admission; kids under 12 are free. Fifty percent of the proceeds go to HOAH. For tickets and info: S.B. Polo Club, 684-6683; Heart of the Horse, (323) 331-9259, heartofahorse.org.
