On this week’s Poodle Radio, Colin Marshall is first joined by D.J. Palladino and Barton Myers, author and subject, respectively, of The Indy’s cover story this week. A famed architect known around Santa Barbara for his own striking steel-and-glass house on Toro Canyon Road, Myers has much to say about how the rebuilding in the wake of the Tea Fire and Jesusita Fire could be executed more intelligently. The show’s discussion goes into the specifics of how Santa Barbarans are building wrong, how they could build better, and what Myers’s own career and construction experiences have taught him about these architectural issues.

Then, Indy arts editor Charles Donelan rolls into the studio to talk about his role at the paper, how he found his way to Santa Barbara, and what he’s looking forward to in the coming months. With his focus on theater, he’s brings information about the promising stage productions on the horizon, including The Winter’s Tale at Theater 150 in Ojai and Alan Ayckbourn’s Time of My Life at SBCC.

As always, the show also features music collected by Indy associate arts editor and Poodle Radio music producer Aly Comingore. This includes selections from Kyle Nicolaides, Au Revoir Simone, Built to Spill, and Bad Astronaut, booked to play Santa Barbara in the near future or recent past.
