On this week’s Poodle Radio, Colin Marshall is joined first, via telephone, by Aaron Belkin, professor of political science at San Francisco State University and director of UCSB’s Palm Center, a think tank promoting the study of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people in the armed forces. He and his organization are the subject of Nick Welsh’s cover story in the paper on doing away with the U.S. military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on sexual minorities.

Then, Santa Barbara International Film Festival director Roger Durling visits the studio to discuss his work, his Roger Durling’s Big Picture interview columns for the Indy, and the wide scope and early beginnings of his love for cinema. The show also includes tracks from Katie Herzig, Maps & Atlases, and the Brook Lee Catastrophe, all gathered by Indy associate arts editor and Poodle Radio music producer Aly Comingore. The artists are all played live in Santa Barbara recently or will do so soon.
You can tune into Poodle Radio live every Tuesday morning from 8-9 a.m. on KCSB, 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara or on KCSB’s webcast at KCSB.org.
