There are many outside influences that keep kids out of school:
—caring for siblings while parents work to support a lifestyle enabling them to live in expensive Santa Barbara
—staying home with a sick sibling or older relative
—the student actually having a job to support the family
Parent cooperation is necessary and as a retired teacher I resent implications that teachers don’t relate well to students.
