I am truly encouraged by the positive sentiments and intelligent historical perspective exhibited in so many of the comments here.
And I am in complete agreement with the comment that this raid just looks like a last-ditch effort to make as much money from our backwards drug laws before November.
Anyone think after November we will still "need" a new jail in the north county???

This story makes me shudder and I feel horrible for the persons who suffered because of pharmacy error. On the other hand, the patient bears a degree of responsibility to participate in their own care and inspect the Rx upon receipt and be sure they've gotten what was ordered.

This is a sharade! I'm tired of the city council wasting our money hashing out this half-assed patchwork of BS unenforcible ordinances, which in the end, only make it harder for people who really need safe, easy access to their medicine. It's government harrassment. WHY can't we buy on Sunday? What is this TEXAS? And how does the city propose to break patient confidientiality by accessing the patient records of the dispensaries? That violates a patients right to privacy. When did this become a police state?

My first thought was that she's the mother of a cop, she's probably packing heat and those kids are lucky to be alive. Turns out she was packing-- AUTHORITY!
I hope the kids involved learn something before their behaviour becomes a way of life. But it sounds like they've been on a bit of a rampage and will have some painful days ahead.

The article fails to mention if the girls are still being held as accessories to the crime. And if they are, WHY isn't Gallegos being held for the same?

I'm so sad for that little family and the surviving family who mourn their loss. I wish them all comfort and peace.
If that driver knew his brakes had issues, he's a criminal. Yet I feel sad for him too. I'm sure he didn't start out his journey with the intent to harm. Grave negligence on his part has allowed this tragedy.
