I am proud to have worked at SBB&T back in the day when they really did care about their employees and the local community. I am honestly sad to see that this has all but dissolved over the last decade and now, with the final sale, it's literally gone. The incredible era of Lancaster, Irvin & Raddue has truly vanished.

I'm waiting to read about the "on the cell phone and/or texting while driving" sting... pick any corner, any part of town, any time and voila, it's a cash-cow just waiting to get milked. You can't wait that extra minute for that pedestrian to get across the crosswalk? Maybe you're the one who should leave a few minutes earlier, or take a diff route. In the meantime, hang up and drive.

Bwaaaahahahaaa.... "man candy", "slide tackle" and "technical area" all in one sentence - you truly are brilliantly funny! It was also fun watching - uh - your 'man candy' coach our own gaggle of errant wee ones across the field this season - sure hope we get to do it again next year!
ps. I'll bring the Bailey's ;)

I just want to clarify something - this is NOT a "women's only" event - I have walked this event, in LA and SB and there are women AND men (and more and more teens) taking part in this extraordinary event.
Breast cancer affects both sexes, men have been diagnosed too, although not as common, it does happen. We walk as unique individuals with our own stories, and we come together as one for a common goal, to find the cure and in the meantime, support as many people as possible touched by breast cancer with exceptional medical care.
I encourage everyone touched by this unfortunate diagnosis to participate in any way possible, it truly is an amazing, life-inspiring event for everyone.

Good grief people... LIGHTEN UP.
Yes of course many people have for-their-own-valid-reasons dietary restrictions and/or flat out persnickety preferences and the point here is that not everyone NEEDS/WANTS/CARES to hear about the minutiae of said subject.
Find your funny bone and suck on it til y'all get it.

The "really wanted was to dance..." comment was actually from Dr. Olson, not Starshine. She was just relaying his own personal experience as a child growing up, what he did vs. what he wanted to do, to make the point about how societal gender "expectations" for the most part box us ALL in. Throw in discovering ones own sexual identity as gay and sadly, for too many kids, all that becomes exponentially worse.
On that note, if anyone out there feels they have no where to go and/or no one to turn to - OR - you just have questions and want to learn more - please visit http://thetrevorproject.org -Thank you

@joerak - Please explain how on earth this article is offensive to you. As a fellow parent, I, like many others would readily agree with your sentiment that we learn unconditional love from, and for, our children (as well as for all others) and that hiding behind religion (or whatever else) is inexcusable, but you don't give any reference to what offends you about this article - and I'd really like to know.
With that said, and in complete non-threatening defense of the author (another fellow parent AND personal friend) I kindly suggest that you might actually like her other articles, if you could just manage to get past the titles.
As for me, I don't care one hootenanny if either one or both of my boys are gay - I just want them to know that EVERY ONE is loved for who they are - so that's how I raise them.

"suspected" gang member... yeah right.
and puh-lease, the “you just weren’t doing what we expected you to be doing” comment by eskin - seriously?
this town's "attempt" to deal with gangs is embarrassing.
