See, the problem w/ leftie post sophisticate pseudo intellectuals is they just take themselves WAY too serious. Really fellas, get over yourselves (DonMcD, EatsTheRicky, ChestieAB).
Had it been me italiansurg made the comment to, it woulkd've gone as such:

italiansurg: "I'm pretty sure that's hank..."

hank: "No way dude, I'm Cuban & a knife is way below our standards. We use high powered big caliber weaponry, compliments of the cocaine trade. Besides, a White girl in IV? All they got is beer money & sorority dues."

Now that wasn't so bad. Really fellas, GET OVER YOURSELVES!

Oh, & supposed "God" that legal system you speak of may hold true in technicality, but it comes down to the cost of your legal defense team & if you're the average Jose like me, proving your innocence, "Ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, non qui negat" won't mean a thing when your representation CAN'T prove your innocence.
So, as the accused of being "wrong" by a imaginary figure like yourself, this is a tie & therefore, according to our legal system, I WIN AGAIN. Poor "God" is just simply slipping w/ age or outright stupidity. I think it's outright stupidity based on a hatred of the almighty hank :) henry

Don: "You always talk a good independent game. But you more often than not end up with a right wing talking point conclusion."

YIKES! I'm posting a "conservative" label alert here Bill! Beware or you'll become a part of that "vast right wing conspiracy" that only exists in dingDon's head.
Well, @ least w/ Donnyboy we know the communofascist stance is never gonna go away. Gotta love constants! :) henry

Just like italiansurg would have to prove your guilt in court, you'd conversely have to prove your innocence. Just the way the legal system works. Rob&StabTheRich? Has a nice ring to it. HAHAHAHA! :) henry

Dolodope: "I don't understand all the hatred and name-calling."

No hatred there Mr. Experienced Drunk, just when somebody posts a comment as stupid as " I am an experienced drinker and and experienced driver. I'm no danger to you or anyone else" it has to be pointed out as, well, STUPID.
Of course, this is granted that what you mean by that comment is you know when you've had enough & have the common sense to let a sober person do the driving, then you're not stupid.
But if you really believe what you stated then I'm willing to bet that you're 1 of those experienced drunks that also instantly becomes a good looking man after a few drinks, well, @ least in your own mind.
Bottom line: You're either saying what you say out of actual stupidity or you're just trying to make a mockery of a bummer of a subject.
Being the kindhearted fella that I am, my guess is you're just trying to piss people off. The reason I believe this is because NOBODY can be so STUPID as to say "Besides, it's no joke -- there are both experienced and inexperienced drunk drivers. I am experienced enough not to be a danger on the road when I do drink and drive." :) henry

It was probably dolomushbrain :) henry

Ken, I think Bill sees a phantom pod. But seriously, AZ2SB, I gotta question the "school was a privilege" comment.
A public educational system has always been a right, a driver's license is a privilege.
The reason the public education system is a right is because it is paid for w/ our tax $$$. Now a private school or college, different story, but the public system is a right.
Funny how some people squander their rights like school or voting. Makes me wonder if we're headed toward idiocracy.

John_A hit it on the head: "More General Fund subsidies of bad parenting."

I think wolverine has the answer in his question: "why aren't we fining parents of habitual truants to help help fund this?"

If I said I never commited truancy that'd be a lie, but I can say that the truancy didn't affect my outcome as a working, tax paying, law abiding individual.
The problems w/ truancy these days (except for the bullying escapees BillC mentions) is that it leads to worse stuff than ever before.
I will bet bucks to doughnuts that the majority of those gang scum on the injunction list were chronic truants during their school daze (yes, I said & meant "daze") :) henry
