Hah, rich people problems..
I seem to be around un-leashed dogs constantly at the beach, at the cliffs or at parks and am actually quite amazed at how peaceful and well behaved most dogs are around here. I've never witnessed anything like the above in the 12 years I've lived in this community, except one time when my roommate's dog got out and chased down the mailman. I think he tried to bite his shoes and he ended up getting pepper sprayed. Of course that was considered an 'attack' even though no injuries resulted. Otherwise in my presence he was taken out in public very regularly off-leash without incident.
People should be responsible for their pets, but I don't see any sense in blowing an attack out of proportion. If somebody paid you $20, would you be willing to receive a minor bite from a smaller dog? I sure would. Free dinner at a nice restaurant. In an instant I'd take $100 to receive a mediocre bite from a larger dog that only resulted in some bleeding. Sure beats the hell out of spending an entire day at the office. Of course after the fact, it sure would be nice to receive thousands of dollars, wouldn't it?

E-verify sounds like a waste of resources, it is intrusive and the next step in the process to a Federal ID card. I don't understand how any so-called 'conservative' could approve of such an atrocious violation of civil liberties. The program only works as long as EVERYBODY has their personal information, etc. in a federal database with biometrics. No thanks, I say. You can scan my cold, dead retina.
If somebody is willing to do a job and you want to pay them for it, pay them for it. Nobody should have the right to stand in the way of two people coming to a mutually beneficial and consensual labor/trade agreement just because of some imaginary boundaries they have setup in their heads.
You can tell the author of this piece is ignorant because of the wording they use. They say that the latino extremist groups want 'unfettered illegal immigration'. I'm pretty sure what they want is unfettered LEGAL immigration.
But if you really want to understand the immigration problem, you have to go back to the early 1990s when Bill Clinton signed NAFTA. The US Govt. essentially forced Mexico to change their Constitution. The result was that millions of latinos, mostly in rural areas were kicked off of their land by their government which was then sold to the highest bidding mult-national corporation. Land that sustained these people for generations was suddenly ripped away and they were forced to move into the city where jobs were already sparse, work for slave wages on the new farms where most of the produce is exported to the U.S., or they could make the smart decision and go to the United States, signup for welfare and reap all of our free government benefits. Of course they still get screwed by the government, because it turns out that illegal aliens pay more in taxes than they receive in government services. The moral of the story is that the immigration problem is the fault of the US, not Mexico and least of all Mexicans. The government takes from everybody, they give it to their friends to build expensive things to blow up on the other side of the planet and if you want that to stop you should register Republican in the next hour and vote for Ron Paul on June 5th.

I have no issues with them the tax evasion end, who on earth wants to spend money on high tech weaponry and blow it up on the other side of the world, anyway? Who wants to pay for the enforcement arm of the biggest criminal banks and corporations in the world? The only reason I pay taxes is so I don't go to jail, but there certainly isn't anything wrong with not paying taxes from a moral aspect.
Unfortunately tax evasion is probably the only reason they were brought up on charges.
These guys do sound like scumbags though and they did need to stand in front of a judge. I wish they could pay back all of their real victims and not the IRS.

Obama has raided 20 times more medical cannabis dispensaries than Bush.

There are THREE DAYS LEFT to register Republican so you can vote for a candidate for President who not only has a chance at winning, but wants to end the ridiculous war on (some) drugs and is pro-medical cannabis. Ron Paul 2012.
As far as other options, I think our city, state and/or county need to come up with a popular referendum to stop the Feds from raiding medical cannabis dispensaries based on the Tenth Amendment.

There is absolutely nothing constitutional about the war on drugs, therefore the power should go to the states and local governments.

"Students reported less depression when there was a LATER STARTING TIME," she says. "And teachers reported that students were more alert and ready for learning. Parents reported that their children were easier to live with because their emotions were more regulated."
