thanks indeed, a fine job of reporting. i never would join but who would have guessed how widespread this scam is. i just yesterday got the mystery shopper appeal and i now live in alabama, not that the cyber world observes boundaries. the sender of mine was: a.brown@mystery-shopper-u:
i loved santa barbara from the 40s to 80s but now wonder about some resident miscreants you wrote of.

and, jukin, i would not get too excited about unused booms unless you are really desperate to assert your neocon hatred. i live in lower alabama and i'm here to tell you, booms don't do much in any weather at all. if any heads are to roll i think the man who displaced heavy mud with water should be the first

thank you indeed. now i think i kind of know raymond and here is a story i would have liked to tell him. i was in nha trang in '68 shortly after the tet offensive, not as a soldier but as a merchant seaman hauling war materiel. i went ashore and had some beers with a GI who was a forward observer. he was in his twenties and his face sagged like that of a stroke victim, due to injuries. he had two purple hearts and six pending. i asked him if he looked forward to going home and he said not really, partly due to public sentiment against the war but mostly because i would be bored. i am no psychologist but the word "desensitisation" comes to mind. now i wonder how raymond fits into this scheme. and by the way, deborah, wow, what an exemplary person you are, and oh, what is the name of your dog? i love to ask people that.
i am an alcoholic too, more the reason to think of raymond, i guess, and to avoid cars!

jimbo 2000, please don't throw those apostrophes around as in gang's. these are hard times, no waste.
i enjoyed living in mexico, coastal jalisco,. for two years. i gave umpteen mexican hitchhikers rides and enjoyed their company. i would never give a ride in my country. what am i saying? that mexicans here are different. i wish drugs would be made legal, not that i use them, just to get revenue and, i think, reduce crimen.

please google "dog bites by breed" and be prepared to contact the authors and tell them they are all wrong. give me a break, why do people need mean dogs? what are they afraid of? do they also have tattoos on their necks, shaved heads? let the numbers, facts, speak for themselves and if you must have a pit bull, be sure to have a good lawyer .
On Pondering Pit Bulls
