We see many skateboarders who are taken up Old San Marcos Road by vehicle and then skateboard down the road. They are all over the road and its just a matter of time before one of them is killled.

KCET has cut off its nose to spite its face. I have been a member and contributor since 2003 and now will not give them a red cent, as except for PBS, there is absolutely nothing worth watching on KCET

Great advice about NOT giving a pet as a gift. The recipient should have the opportunity to pick their own pet. Reputable shelters do not adopt to 3rd parties.

Amen, Lisa. SO many people are currently turning in their owned pets in Santa Barbara. It may be the economy. Nonetheless, the County shelters are overwhelmed with owner-turn-ins, as well as the strays. Please alter your animal and make a commitment of a "forever home" to any pet you do adopt.

@MacMahler: Second that emotion. But the land would have to be bought or condemned for the reasonable value in order to do that. It's not likely that the owner (the bank) will put it in an Ag preserve/ Williamson Act.
Much as it would be a shame to start any development on the Gaviota Coast, and therefore open up the whole area to development, there is little to prevent it. We Californians will have to pay to play and the State is broke.......
